How to Rap: The Art and Science of the Hip-Hop MC

I'm going to do something today that has never been done on the Hardey Blog before, nor do I expect it ever to be done again. I'm going to tell you to read a book. However, this is not any book. "How to Rap" is the most in depth look at hip hop that I have ever encountered. Covering every imaginable facet of the music, from writing, collaboration, producing, performing and more, it is mostly based on interviews done with dozens of some of the best MCs in the game, and analyzes some of the best tracks of all time to see what is behind the masterpieces. At about 300 pages, you get your money's worth, and will come out of it knowing more about hip-hop than ever before. It's not a how-to guide. It's a necessity to truly appreciate music that, when done correctly, is an art. Get it.
