New LCD Soundsystem (LINKS!)

LCD Soundsystem plans to drop their highly anticipated This is Happening on May 18th on their DFA LLC label .
A bunch of the songs are already readily available for sampling on iTunes. Or for full download on Limewire, Mediafire, Zippyshare, the Internets. Youtube has been having the whole album for a while.
Just listen to the songs All I Want and One Touch and you'll soon be witness once again to their range of musical abilities. James Murphy and his crew have assembled an altogether original compilation of electronic dance meets live band meets psychedelic sound overlapped by punk rock vocals.

LCD doesn't disappoint with this one.

New Info On All City Chess Club

Nahright has an audio excerpt from an interview with Lupe where he confirms the existence of the ACCC and that they all contributed to a "I'm Beamin" remix. Also in the interview, Lupe admits that Blu is the only MC in the game he is scared of. That says a lot.

Bizzeats and Stizzyle

If you like catchy hooks and electronic music you absolutely must check out Beats and Styles' single Friend. It was released on March 18 on Tunne Productions OY (yeah I'm a little late but I just heard it today so f-off). If you go on iTunes you can find a bunch of remixes all of which seem to be pretty damn good.

I'm feelin' the remix by Cristian Marchi and Paolo Sandrini it's definitely a banger. Peeps the crazy video for the original song:

K-OS Samples Phantom Planet

Released back in a trivial time void of the Double Down (November ‘09), this K-OS track samples Phantom Planet’s “California” (The O.C. theme song). As if this wasn’t incentive enough to give it a listen, K-OS tears this track a new one. “I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman” is an infectious Hip-Hop track that with major label support would be a mainstream radio destroyer. Now stop reading and go dance the hell out of these tracks, you can thank me later.

US Men's National Team Jersey Hits Stores Today

RW has t-shirt tuesdays and Room 121 has dirty jersey thursdays. Today the USMNT jersey hits stores. I copped mine pre-order weeks ago and it arrived in the 716 yesterday. in case you didn't realize it I am a huge football (I mean, soccer) fan. I love the sport and support Liverpool and Barcelona as fervently as I do the Sabres. This is why 2010, a world cup year, is such a big deal. For some, it's just another summer. But for Room 121, its blogging three times a day about games involving countries you've never heard of. However, if you're like me or are just pumped the US qualified and get to play England, Algeria, and Slovenia at the very least, you need to cop this jersey.

De La Soul to headline Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival 2010

Brooklyn Bodega got De La Soul to headline their yearly music festival.

“To be honest, we have been trying to get De La Soul to headline the Festival since we first came up with the idea in 2005. On many levels they are the perfect flag bearers for our mission to use Hip-Hop as an agent of change. For over 20 years they have traveled the world inspiring MC’s, producers, DJ’s and fans alike. I can think of no better artist to usher the Festival into its new home in Brooklyn Bridge Park.”

this is something I'm going to for sure. Hit me up if you're interested in making the trek with me.

Amazing Chalk Art

I don't normally post stuff like this, but this guy's work is ridiculous. His name: Julian Beever. He specializes in chalk art and clearly has a complete understanding of dimensions and perspective. When you look at his art it's difficult to tell what's real and what's fake.
Check out his website here. You have to click on the categories to get beyond the homepage.

All photographs are copyright of Julian Beever, I am simply promoting a very talented artist.

Side note: I bet this dude hates Justin Bieber for his similarly sounding name. I don't care if that kid was on SNL, he sucks.

Smokin' Mittens

Surgeon General's Warning: Smoking Mittens are sweet.

Tobias Wong has invented perhaps the most practical article of winter clothing...ever. These mittens have a metal hole just big enough for you to slip in a bogie and not get frost bite. They thought the COLD would stop us??? HA! If you don't smoke already, go buy a pair and pick up a pack of Turkish Silvers (if you are of legal age). They're only 20 pounds UK or like $30.65 on SUCK UK. It's a worthy investment faSHO. For a second I thought to myself "why don't they have smoking gloves?"

Side note: there is no indication if they work with L's but it might be worth having-a-go.

Recently High Snobiety showed you the latest work by Italian artist Francesco de Molfetta of his “New Idols” series. For all of you who haven't heard of Wiz Khalifa, there are two things you should know about him:
1) he's the most under appreciated rapper of his generation, and 2) he's probably already on your ipod. Famous for "The Thrill" and "Say Yeah", "This Plane" was his last official single. Hugh Crazy throws his own twists onto the beat and this little ditty comes to fruition.

I’m really looking forward Travis AKA Travie McCoy’s new album “Lazarus” due out June 8 this year. I’ve always liked what he’s done with Gym Class Heroes so this solo album has great potential. Of course, it always does help that Bruno Mars (of B.o.B. “Nothin’ On You” fame) sings the hook. I’m really looking forward to his future debut EP release as well due out in May. Pictures from this event went up on WireImage the other day and I did a double take. Chromeo Announce New Album Title: Business Casual

This summer, the party-starting, festival-happy Montreal plastic-funk duo Chromeo returns. On August 17, they'll release Business Casual, their third album and the follow-up to the 2007 breakthrough Fancy Footwork, via Atlantic. The band is still finalizing the order of the songs, but we've got the titles of all the songs on the album below. It seems pretty incredible that Chromeo hadn't already released a track called "Hot Mess".

Some fun facts about Business Casual: Solange Knowles lends her voice to "When the Night Falls"; Cassius member and Phoenix producer Philipe Zdar, a longtime Chromeo collaborator, mixed the disc; and, as with Fancy Footwork, Surface 2 Air did the artwork.

Before the album drops, they'll also play a couple of big festivals. The duo has dates lined up at Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo. And at the 'Roo, they'll fulfill their destiny by sharing a stage with 80s pop legend Daryl Hall.

This Shit is gonna be straight fire. Chromeo is an amazing band and working with Zdar and Solange just makes it even better. Hopefully I can cop this before August 17th and release it to the masses.
